Journal of the Society of Specialists in Airway Management (JOSSAM)
The Journal of the Society of Specialists in Airway Management (JOSSAM) is the official peer-reviewed, open-access journal of the Society of Specialists in Airway Management of Nigeria (SSAMN). Published biannually, the journal provides a platform for the publication of high-quality scientific research, clinical experiences, reviews, and educational content related to airway management and its associated specialties.
JSSAM is committed to advancing evidence-based practice, improving patient safety, and promoting collaboration among clinicians, researchers, educators, and healthcare professionals in Nigeria, Africa, and the international medical community.

Peer Review
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment followed by a rigorous double-blind peer-review process conducted by independent reviewers. Editorial decisions are based on scientific quality, originality, ethical standards, and relevance to the journal's scope.
Open Access Policy
JSSAM is a fully open-access journal. All published articles are freely accessible online immediately upon publication, allowing unrestricted reading, downloading, sharing, and citation while ensuring proper attribution to the original authors.
Publication Ethics
The journal adheres to internationally accepted publication ethics and follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Authors are expected to uphold the highest standards of research integrity, ethical conduct, transparency, and responsible authorship.

Articles published in JSSAM are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) licence, permitting use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors.
Indexing
JSSAM is actively developing its publication archive and quality standards for inclusion in major international indexing databases, including PubMed Central (PMC), Scopus, and Web of Science.
Publication Frequency
Biannual (Two issues published each year).
Open Access Policy
JOSSAM provides immediate gold open access to all published articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
Peer Review Standard
All submitted manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent expert reviewers to ensure clinical rigor and scientific integrity.
